2006 — Update GREEN The Green family were originally farmers near Youghal in Co. Cork, Ireland, but because of the destruction of many of the Irish Parish and Civil Records in the early 1920s, it is proving very difficult to confirm any of the family data which has been passed down from my 2 x great grandfather who came over to England from there. Trying to discover more about these origins is a project for 2007 but it may be some time before any information finds its way onto this web site. JAMES I have quite good information about the 18th and 19th century members of this family who lived in and around Ryde on the Isle of Wight but there is much work still to be done on the 20th century descendants of those earlier Jameses. Given other research commitments I think it is unlikely that I shall be able to post a thing about this family until sometime next year.
